Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Abdulaziz Sari, affirmed the keenness of the political leadership and the Council of Ministers to empower women and enable them to reach decision-making positions, indicating the presence of 3 female leaders and 30 directors and supervisors in all sectors of the Ministry with a percentage approaching 50% of the total leadership and supervisory positions.
His remarks came during a discussion session organized by the Ministry in the Ministries Complex, during which international expert John Gray lectured on empowering women in the government sector on the sidelines of the “Empowering Women’s Leadership” conference that took place at the Jumeirah Hotel under the patronage of the Minister of Social Affairs and family and childhood affairs, Sheikh Firas Al-Saud.
In his speech, Sari stressed the importance of building confidence, motivating teams, and creating an inclusive work environment, noting that Minister Al-Malik always recommends paying attention to everything related to women and raising their status. He further said: The Ministry is keen to exchange experiences with all countries regarding women’s empowerment and discuss the special challenges that women face in their career progression, in addition to discussing plans and strategies and monitoring important indicators in the development and empowerment of women and dealing with these indicators and benefiting from them in a way that serves the Ministry and improves the services that it provides, leading to the adoption of a national policy to empower women in Kuwait.
