The Director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, confirmed that what is happening to the Palestinians is indeed an ethnic cleansing and genocide.
In his speech at the Security Council session on developments in the situation in the Palestinian issue, broadcast by the Cairo News Channel, Lazzarini added that hunger and despair are turning into anger towards the international community, emphasizing that approximately 70% of the deaths they receive are of women and children.
He continued: Save the Children indicated that 3,200 children were killed in Gaza in the past three weeks, exceeding the number of children that are killed annually in armed conflicts since 2019, and we cannot consider this matter as damage and side effects.
He explained that over 600,000 displaced people are now present in schools and buildings affiliated with UNRWA, which have become overcrowded, where they live in disgusting, unsanitary conditions with little to no food or water and sleeping in beds without mattresses.
