The Italian-Egyptian film ‘The Goat’ will be in Egyptian cinemas on 18 Sept.

Italian director Ilaria Borreli’s feature film, “The Goat,” is scheduled for theatrical release in Egyptian cinemas on September 18th.

The film has garnered attention since its world premiere at the Rome Film Festival and has received positive reviews from international journalists and film critics. ”

The Goat” has won multiple awards, including Best Original Story at the Swedish International Film Festival (SIFF) 2023, Best Women’s Film at the 4th Dimension Independent Film Festival 2023, and several awards at the INDO French International Film Festival 2023, Life Beyond Life Film Festival 2023, Female Eye Film Festival 2024, Toronto International Women Film Festival 2024, and Miami Women Film Festival 2024.

The 90-minute desert adventure film was entirely shot in Siwa and directed by Italian filmmaker Ilaria Borreli. It tells the coming-of-age story of Hadya, a pregnant orphan who flees into the desert with her loyal goat in search of her father.
