On Thursday, February 8, 2024, The Bibliotheca Alexandrina will host an expert meeting with the theme of “Women’s aid tactics: difficulties and opportunities” in cooperation with UNHCR, through the Women’s Studies and Social Transformation Programme of the Library’s academic studies sector.
The “Women’s aid tactics: difficulties and opportunities” expert meeting occurs against an environment of increased global relationships and efforts to improve women’s status in society. Emphasizing this issue demonstrates the understanding that empowering women is a crucial investment in achieving sustainable development and advancing social and economic stability. But given the social, economic, and cultural circumstances of women’s struggles, practical measures must be developed consistently and meticulously to empower and support women. Therefore, the purpose of this meeting is to give experts and specialists in the field a forum for interaction and exchange, to review opportunities and challenges in particular, and to develop integrated and sustainable strategies to improve women’s roles in various spheres of life and society.
The meeting is attended by a number of experts, representatives from the Senate and House of Representatives, decision-makers, academics, judges, and other experts, specialists, and people with an interest in women’s issues.
