On Sunday, January 15, the World Art Forum for Development Foundation (WAFDF) signed a cooperation protocol with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development.
That protocol serves as the start of a partnership to implement a national initiative on the role of sustainable art, which depends on recycling waste to serve society, achieve sustainable development, and support youth and women.
The initiative aids them through workshops, competitions, and exhibitions that display the art of young artists and heritage artifacts through three axes, namely plastic art, entrepreneurship, and the Millennium Development Goals within the framework of Egypt’s Plan 2030.
It is worth noting that this initiative is implemented in partnership with several ministries, United Nations organizations, and the private sector.
Signing the protocol was Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of the Institute, and the renowned Egyptian artist, Randa Fouad, President and Founder of the Foundation.
“Remarkably, signing the protocol coincided with the anniversary of the opening of the International Art Forum for Development in its first edition last year on the same day at the Museum of Civilization, and therefore represents a very special and important day for the institution,” Fouad stated on her personal Facebook page.
Adding, “I followed up with the foundation’s continuous work, until I attained this success for my community, through my belief in each person’s role in achieving their dream.”
“We have prepared an excellent team for this important initiative and will continue our role to support Egypt’s up-and-coming visual artists innovatively and give them the opportunity in the field of entrepreneurship. They represent the future of Egypt, the country of art and civilization.” She indicated.
Randa concluded her statement with a positive message, encouraging Egyptian citizens to do their part in the community and exert their greatest efforts to serve our society. She stressed that positive energy comes from doing what you love and giving it your all.
