Yesterday, the Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Maya Morsy, visited the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) headquarters to oversee its efforts in responding to international crises and disasters.
She specifically focused on the ERC’s relief and medical support activities in Syria, the Gaza Strip, Libya, Turkey, and Sudan.
Morsy, who also serves as the vice president of the Egyptian Red Crescent, met with the organization’s executive committee, CEO, and volunteers.
During the meeting, she received a comprehensive overview of the relief efforts carried out by the Red Crescent in Sudan. These efforts included the distribution of over one million food items, the provision of 107,000 medical services, and the delivery of more than 10,000 psychological support services.
Additionally, the total number of aid trucks delivered to the Gaza Strip by the Egyptian Red Crescent amounted to 22,000.
The minister took the opportunity to commend the exceptional services provided by the 100-year-old organization, both at the local and international levels, during her visit.
She further expressed gratitude to Egypt’s First Lady, Entissar El-Sisi, for her support and interest in the Egyptian Red Crescent’s efforts and activities.
