Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity,Dr. Maya Morsy, honored the ministry’s team involved in preparing Egypt’s report for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of human rights at the United Nations in Geneva in January. This recognition reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of excellence across its sectors.
Dr. Mohamed El Okby, Assistant Minister for Strategic Communication and Media, Dina El-Sayrfi, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation and Relations, Legal Advisor Karim Qalawi, Mustafa Abdel-Raouf, Director of the Human Rights Unit, and other members of the Human Rights Unit received the honor .
Dr. Morsi expressed her pride in the team’s outstanding performance within the Egyptian delegation, particularly their contribution to organizing a side event in collaboration with the National Councils for Women, Persons with Disabilities, and Childhood and Motherhood. Additionally, the team participated in the main session, where Egypt showcased its achievements in social protection and social security rights amid unprecedented global challenges. This presentation had a profound impact on the delegations present at the discussions.
The Minister also commended the coordination at the highest levels with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Legal Affairs, Egypt’s Permanent Mission in Geneva, and all other relevant Egyptian institutions. This collaboration ensured the successful presentation of Egypt’s human rights record to the international community.
Dr. Morsi emphasized her dedication to honoring distinguished sectors within the Ministry as part of the Ministry’s institutional evaluation, stressing that every individual who excels in their role will be recognized for their efforts, which positively influence the outcomes of the ministry’s work.
