Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Nasser Social Bank, chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Family Insurance Fund. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, with the presence of Maj. Gen.Jamal Awad, Chairman of the National Social Insurance Authority, and Osama Said, Vice Chairman of the Board, along with other board members.

The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of implementing the board’s decisions and recommendations, with a particular emphasis on a report detailing the recommendations to update and correct the Family Insurance Fund’s database for its clients.

Discussions also revolved around the ongoing efforts to improve the quality of services provided to those eligible for alimony, especially women and children. The fund’s objective is to safeguard Egyptian families from the risk of non-payment by the obligated party. Under the program, the fund pays alimony to women, children, or parents who have received either temporary or final court rulings. Beneficiaries can submit their application for this support at the nearest Nasser Social Bank branch, submitting a copy of the court ruling, a legally recognized notice, personal identification, and available details about the person obligated to pay.

The board also deliberated on a new law aimed at enhancing the Fund’s resources, seeking to increase the fund’s payout capacity. This law would allow the Fund to disburse alimony amounts in full to the beneficiaries without waiting for collections from the obligated party. Additionally, if the fund recovers the payment from the person obligated to pay, the total amount of the alimony ruling will be fully reimbursed.
