The “Empowering Women in the Digital Transformation Era” event is part of the Qodwa-Tech initiative to empower women, conducted in collaboration with the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO).
As per the Ministry of Communication’s website, the event is set to take place on July 21-24 at the GUPCO premises in Maadi. Around forty Qodwa-Tech participants, who were top performers in previous rounds, have been selected and split into two groups of 20. Each group will participate in the event for two days.
The event will include workshops and panel discussions to empower women with state-of-the-art tech tools and create an environment conducive to achieving the highest levels of innovation necessary to enhance their projects. This marks a significant step towards advancing women’s economic status and reinforcing their role in the digital transformation process to achieve sustainable development.
The event agenda includes sessions on AI and artistic design and workshops dedicated to nurturing mental mapping in handmade product design.
During the event, an exhibition will showcase unique and diverse handicraft products, offering participating women an opportunity to engage with customers and gain deeper insights into customer needs and preferences.
This aims to empower women to craft effective digital marketing strategies, refine their e-commerce practices, and boost their potential for growth in the digital marketplace. Additionally, it opens avenues to transform creativity into tangible production and profit opportunities.
The event aims to establish institutional partnerships and alliances to consolidate efforts across all relevant stakeholders involved in women’s empowerment. It also addresses the specific needs of women by offering technical and knowledge support and fostering female entrepreneurs to join various sectors of the workforce by leveraging their projects’ competitive advantages.
Furthermore, the event seeks to build women’s digital capacities, thereby unlocking new opportunities for marketing, exporting, and competing in domestic and global markets. Thus, it contributes to achieving economic and social empowerment for Egyptian women.
The Qodwa-Tech initiative is committed to empowering women and preparing them for the digital transformation era, aligning with the strategy of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to build Digital Egypt.
The Ministry strives to prepare all segments of society for digital transformation by optimizing the utilization of IT tools and applications across various areas of economic and social development. These endeavors encompass enhancing the digital skills and business management capabilities of women and youth while also improving their proficiency in marketing products and services using the latest technological applications and tools.
