During the opening of the third edition of the “Sports Expo 2025” international exhibition and conference, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly took a tour of the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ pavilion. The event was inaugurated on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and was attended by several prominent figures, including Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, ministers, ambassadors, the Governor of Cairo, the Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and senior sports officials.

Minister Dr. Ashraf Sobhi highlighted that “Sports Expo 2025” is the leading sports exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa region. This year, the event draws over 200 participants and more than 15,000 visitors, including local sports manufacturers, club owners, equipment suppliers, athletes, and various service providers. The expo serves as a crucial meeting point for regional and international decision-makers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth within the sports industry. Additionally, it provides attendees with an opportunity to discover the latest developments, exchange ideas, and build valuable partnerships.

Sobhi elaborated that the exhibition is held in strategic partnership with Soccerex, a global leader in the football industry, alongside a broad participation of top-tier sports clubs, federations, and companies specializing in sports technology and investment. The event also marks an exciting first for the region: “Sports Expo 2025” will host the Soccerex MENA Conference, a global football industry summit, for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa. This represents a new era for advancing growth, collaboration, and innovation in the global football sector.

After the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Madbouly, accompanied by his delegation, toured several of the exhibition’s pavilions, beginning with the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ section. During the visit, Sobhi briefed the Prime Minister on some of the key activities featured in the pavilion, including the participation of the Ministry’s Sports Technology Incubator “MOYS”, funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. The incubator provides a platform for participating companies to showcase their innovative ideas, in line with the ministry’s efforts to support creativity and technological advancement in the sports sector.

Sobhi emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to promoting sports technology in Egypt, a concept that aims to spark a technological revolution in the sports industry. This initiative seeks to improve the performance of athletes, coaches, and fans, especially by incorporating technologies like artificial intelligence. Sobhi made it clear that the development of sports technology is no longer a mere option—it is a pressing necessity for staying ahead in both local and international sports competitions. He pointed out that “MOYS” serves as a vital platform to empower young innovators, offering them opportunities to develop and launch successful projects that contribute to enhancing Egypt’s sports sector.

During the inspection, Prime Minister Madbouly and his team also viewed models of various sports facilities in Egypt. These models reflect tangible advancements in Egypt’s sports infrastructure, showcasing a real transformation in the country’s sports sector. Sobhi further explained that the Ministry is maximizing the potential of these sports facilities as part of its sustainable development plan, which aligns with the broader national strategy aimed at promoting a new concept of sports that prioritizes public health. He also highlighted the next generation of smart sports facilities, such as the Egypt International Olympic City, while noting that the government is committed to continuing the development of sports and youth infrastructure until 2030, in accordance with the Ministry’s long-term strategy.
