Professor of Food technology at the National Research Center
Zahra Saleh AHMED is full Professor of food sciences, National Research Center. Former head of food technology department. Head of food risk analysis research group, Center of excellence. Supervised several MSc and PhD post graduate thesis. Awarded Deutsche Akademishe Austauch Dienst (DAAD) fellowship and get her Dr.Ing. (Hons.) at the Technical University, Munich Germany. She is serving as an international consultant for Food Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO/UN) in series of projects focusing in improving food and nutrition security by targeting women and youth. Served as a Temporary Adviser for the World Health Organization (WHO) in a Regional Technical Consultation on National Food Based dietary Guidelines. Served as a national expert representing Egypt on a Regional Consultation for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on the Codex Alimentarius.
She is lecturer at Cairo University serving the American as well as European program in the fields of advanced food packaging, human nutrition & applied dietetics, and food sensory evaluation. She also provides iClasses and webinars to assist program students with issues and challenges of modern food production. Mrs. AHMED is also internationally certified trainer in the field of food processing. She is an invited speaker at international symposiums and congresses; and chairs of international conferences. She is reviewer for several international indexed research journals. Author and coauthor of many research papers published in international peer reviewed journals. She represented Egypt officially in the Fortieth Session FAO Conference 2017 entitled “Leaving no one behind: Achieving gender equity for food security, nutrition and sustainable agriculture”. She is member in many national and international professional organizations and associations.
