Shahira Diab

General Manager of La Poire

Graduated from the American University in Cairo in 1998 with a bachelor degree in Economics, she then joined La Poire-the food service side of the family business.

La Poire is a market leader in the food service and retail sectors in Egypt. Shahira assumed the position of General Manager of La Poire in 2002 reporting to the board of directors.

She lead the turnaround of the company, growing the company from a pastry chain of 20 shops to well-rounded food service and retail group of companies, with coffee shops, catering services and convenience stores.

Currently La Poire Group operates 150 retail points all over Egypt as well as 2 production facilities all supported by over 4,000 employees.

Shahira also successfully attended the EFG-Hermes Finance and Investment Appraisal course in 1998 and, is a graduated from IMD’s MBA program in 2008 in Lausanne. 

She also attends yearly management courses in both Harvard and London Business Schools.

Shahira has been a member of the YPO (Young Presidents Organization) Cairo Chapter since 2007 and served on its board for 2 years.
