Chairman & CEO of Orascom hotels & development company in Egypt
Since 2016, Manal Hussein is the Chairman of Orascom Development Company in Egypt. For over 20 years, she worked in several Egyptian and other governmental bodies.
She also served as Deputy Minister of Finance, as a Chairman of the Budget Committee from 2004 to 2013 and as a Deputy Minister of commerce in 2003 and 2004.
She worked as an Adviser to the Minister of Economy from 1997 to 2001. Thus, she was appointed a member of the Consultative Council by presidential decree from 2004 to 2011 and she was also appointed Chairman of E-Finance. She held several positions on the boards of several companies with a banking background as wellas airlines, tourism, transport and communications.
Manal received a BA in Media from Cairo University and a master’s degree of Arts in Public Administration from the American University in Cairo. Moreover, she received the Frank Wessner Award for her outstanding mission.In 2008 she received her Doctorate in Public Administration with Honors from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science in Cairo University.
