About Me

Has had the privilege to work in the past with various artists and cultural projects including the Luxor Egyptian and European Film Festival, the Sharm El Sheikh Film Festival, Read my World Literary Festival (Amsterdam), where she was able to gain ample knowledge about the production and management of cultural events. Additionally, her extensive experiences as a trainer, scriptwriter, and performer, have given her a deep wealth of knowledge and prowess as a well-rounded cultural operator. Throughout Abeer’s diversified work, an interest grew around women’s issues and more specifically creating spaces for women who face difficulties to help them express and possibly heal through artistic expression. Recently Abeer has led several projects with large numbers of participants/trainees/refugees/volunteers (over 400) in various locations around Egypt resulting in the creation of more than 20 workshops and the production of 10 performances (storytelling and interactive theater). Abeer continuously aims to have female voices central in most of her work, whether having more representation of women within scripts or by encouraging and training other women in scriptwriting, theatre work or storytelling, She tries to actively and consciously push for more female voices to be heard. She participated in various artistic and cultural projects, as well as managing international events including the Luxor Egyptian and European Film Festival, the Sharm El Sheikh Film Festival, Read my World Literary Festival in the Netherlands.  She also delivered storytelling auditions in Egypt and various countries. She keenly supports women’s issues through presenting artwork with a directive for combating violence against women, as well as organizing workshops about the role of art in achieving positive change in society.  The workshops were attended by 400 trainees and volunteers nationwide. She wrote various TV series, including Al Tabal, La’net Karma, Moluk El Gadana, and Dai Kamar (Ila Ana Series), and managed the dramaturgy of Senin Wi Adit. Most recently, she wrote the thriller drama “tahqiq”.
