Dr. Maya Morsy, Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity, attended the signing of a pivotal protocol aimed at linking the Comprehensive Health Insurance System with Egypt’s Social Protection Networks. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Annual Universal Health Insurance Authority (UHIA) Forum, hosted in the New Administrative Capital.

The strategic protocol, which aligns the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the General Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance, and key technology players—eFinance and eHealth—marks a transformative approach to public service delivery. This collaboration is designed to integrate the country’s health insurance infrastructure with its broader social protection framework, creating a seamless, unified system that enhances both health and social security for Egyptian citizens.

The protocol was signed by Mr. Raafat Shafik, Assistant Minister for Social Protection and Economic Empowerment, representing the Ministry of Social Solidarity. The initiative comes in alignment with Egypt’s long-term vision for economic and social development, aiming to provide citizens with better access to healthcare and support through an interconnected safety net.

This partnership underscores the government’s commitment to improving the efficiency of public sector services and ensuring effective governance, particularly in times of crisis. It is also a critical step toward realizing Egypt’s ambitious Vision 2030 for sustainable development. By optimizing these systems, the government is reinforcing its objectives to provide high-quality, accessible services to all Egyptians, particularly the most vulnerable members of society.

The signing of this protocol comes at a time when Egypt continues to invest in the digital transformation of its public services, leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance operational efficiency and ensure a responsive, inclusive social safety net. With this initiative, Egypt is poised to set new standards in integrated healthcare and social protection, offering a model for the region and beyond.
