On Sunday, Egypt started evacuating its nationals from safe areas in Sudan in coordination with the Sudanese authorities.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said that 189 Egyptian citizens were evacuated from Sudan via air, while 446 others were evacuated via land on Tuesday, April 25th.
So far, around 1,539 Egyptians have been repatriated from Sudan, the spokesman added in a press statement.
He noted that the Egyptian Embassy in Khartoum, the consulates in both Khartoum and Port Sudan, as well as the consular office in Wadi Halfa, are continuing their efforts around the clock to evacuate Egyptians from Sudan.
