First Abu Dhabi Bank Misr (FABMISR), one of the largest banks in Egypt, has sponsored young female athletes through the “Women in Sports” platform.

As reported by Daily News Egypt, the platform winners were celebrated at a press conference attended by Ashraf Sobhi, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, and a specialized committee.

The committee comprises two sports experts: Sherif El Arian, the modern pentathlon champion, and Aya Madany, the former pentathlon player. Also on the committee are Mariam Elsamny, Head of Consumer Banking at FABMISR, and Tamer Yousry, Founder of TimeOut for Sports and Entertainment.

FABMISR will also sponsor 12 young female athletes selected by the committee this year. The committee will review and monitor each young athlete’s performance and ensure their development according to performance indicators.

The online platform, “www.womeninsports.online,” offers young female athletes between the ages of 13 and 20 who aspire to achieve sporting milestones, such as qualifying for the Olympic Games, the opportunity to receive necessary financial and moral support for up to three years.

This year, 12 young female athletes have been selected for support in various sports, including Modern Pentathlon, Swimming, Javelin Throw, Judo, Trampoline Gymnastics, Padel Tennis, Squash, and Taekwondo.

FABMISR’s sponsorship of the “Women in Sports” platform is a significant step in the bank’s initiative to support and empower the role of Egyptian women in sports. This step is part of the bank’s broader efforts to support various segments of Egyptian society, particularly women and youth, in achieving their dreams and passions by providing necessary support.

This sponsorship is not just a one-time initiative, but a part of FABMISR’s long-term Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. This strategy also includes supporting creative and innovative industries, as well as promoting sustainability to achieve sustainable development with a positive impact on driving economic growth in Egypt.
