ETA Head Underscores Tax Facilitation Importance

News Agencies

Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), convened a meeting with senior officials to discuss the implementation of key tax facilitation measures. The meeting, following directives from the Minister of Finance, emphasized a renewed focus on improving taxpayer relations.

Abdel Aal stressed the importance of a cultural shift within the ETA, prioritizing transparency, flexibility, and a more taxpayer-centric approach. “These measures benefit not only taxpayers but also our staff,” she said, highlighting the need for efficient and effective execution plans.

A key development is the creation of a high-level committee to address taxpayer concerns swiftly and effectively, aiming to build trust and protect taxpayer rights. The ETA is also investing heavily in training programs and digital infrastructure to streamline processes and enhance service delivery.

“You are our success partners,” Abdel Aal stated, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with taxpayers. “We are committed to simplifying tax procedures and ensuring fairness for all.”

As Egypt continues its push for tax reform, regular follow-up meetings and rigorous monitoring mechanisms will be key to ensuring that these ambitious goals are met, ultimately paving the way for a more modern and efficient tax system that benefits both the state and its citizens.
