Minister of the Environment, Ministerial Coordinator, and Envoy of the COP27 Climate Conference, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, is heading to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, as part of a high-level delegation headed by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, to participate in the Africa Climate Summit, held from September 4 to 6.
The envoy of the Cop27 Climate Conference explained that the summit will discuss many climate-related issues that affect the African continent, including adaptation in Africa, raising ambition, the African perspective for financing adaptation, the global climate agenda, and the new global design of the climate financing system.
Furthermore, the conference will discuss the road from Nairobi to the upcoming COP28 climate conference in Dubai and beyond.
In a statement, Dr. Fouad asserted that the summit is an important opportunity to discuss the requirements and priorities of the African continent in the climate file, to unify the African voice in preparation for presenting the continent’s pressing issues during the upcoming COP28 climate conference in Dubai, and to produce promising results for the continent that enhance adaptation efforts and confrontation of the effects of climate change.
