Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi just approved a newly issued law, Law No. 29 for 2023, to regulate the ownership of dangerous animals and dogs.
According to the official gazette, article 1 stipulates that this law and its accompanying law shall apply to the regulation of the ownership of dangerous animals and dogs, taking into account the provisions of the Agriculture Law issued by Law No. 53 of 1966, the Environment Law issued by Law No. 4 of 1994, and the Public Funds Law issued by Law No. 154 of 2019, without prejudice to the international agreements to which the Arab Republic of Egypt is a party.
However, this new law and its accompanying law shall not apply to the Ministries of Defense and Interior and their affiliated entities.
