Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Maya Morsy, visited food kitchens and distribution centers in the Waraq district of Giza Governorate to oversee efforts aimed at providing meals to those in need during Ramadan. During her visit, she emphasized the importance of community solidarity and the government’s initiatives to ensure that no one goes hungry during the holy month.

The visit began with a tour of the “Sinaa Al-Khair” Feeding Center, which operates in partnership with Golden View, serving 2,000 meals daily. Dr. Morsy then proceeded to the Yemen Charity Center, which works with the Food Bank and Orange Egypt to distribute 3,000 meals per day.

Dr. Morsy actively participated in meal preparation, overseeing the quality of food being provided and ensuring that it met the needs of the families benefiting from the initiative. She commended the volunteers for their dedication and organizational efforts.

Launching “Bayout Al-Mahrousa” Initiative

During the tour, Dr. Morsy announced the launch of the “Bayout Al-Mahrousa” initiative, which aims to provide 100 million meals throughout the month of Ramadan. The initiative will offer both iftar (fast-breaking) and suhoor (pre-dawn) meals, distributed through dining halls, food centers, and the “Bayout Al-Mahrousa” homes. Additionally, coupons and meals will be delivered to households to reach even the most vulnerable members of society.

Dr. Morsy stressed the importance of fostering a spirit of mutual support and solidarity among Egyptians, encouraging everyone to contribute positively to the community.

Encouraging Community Participation

The Minister highlighted that the success of the initiative hinges on Egyptians’ strong desire to maximize their reward during Ramadan, especially through the act of feeding the fasting. She invited all charities, individuals, and groups involved in meal distribution to coordinate with the Ministry and other institutions engaged in the initiative to ensure maximum impact.

Additionally, Dr. Morsy announced the introduction of a new initiative to recognize and reward outstanding organizations and volunteers through the “Ahl El-Khair” competition. This will honor the best institutions and groups organizing Ramadan meal programs, as well as recognize the dedication of volunteers contributing to these efforts.

As the holy month of Ramadan continues, the “Bayout Al-Mahrousa” initiative stands as a testament to the power of collective action and the enduring spirit of compassion that defines Egyptian society.

This effort, supported by various stakeholders, aims to create a lasting impact by ensuring that millions of Egyptians benefit from the tradition of Ramadan charity.
