Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity, Maya Morsy, was among the prominent figures who participated in a high-level global conference in Doha. The conference has underscored the pressing issues facing families worldwide, with a particular focus on the challenges faced by Arab families. The event, attended by over 2,000 experts and policymakers, was organized by Qatar Foundation’s Doha International Family Institute (DIFI).
Key challenges discussed at the conference included technological addiction, population decline, work-family balance, climate change, conflict and displacement.
The conference participants called for urgent action to address these challenges, including the development of family-friendly policies, increased investment in social services, and greater international cooperation.
The ‘Doha Call to Action’ outlined a series of recommendations to empower families and strengthen their role in society. These recommendations will be presented to governments and policymakers worldwide.
