Egypt squash stars Nouran Gohar and Ali Farag won the 2023-24 Xbox PSA World Tour titles after passing all-Egyptian finals with Nour El-Sherbini and Mostafa Asal, respectively, according to the “Ahram Online” website.
World number two and title holder Gohar has beaten world number one El-Sherbini 3-1 (7-11, 11-2, 11-9, 11-10) to clinch her fifth successive PSA title.
With Sunday’s victory, the 26-year-old Gohar was the first woman to win the Xbox PSA World Tour Finals three times.
At the men’s contest, world number one Farag secured his first-ever Xbox PSA World Tour title after defeating world number three Asal, who was obliged to withdraw in the second half due to an injury.
The 32-year-old Farag took his tally to eight titles this season.
Farag expressed great delight at the new achievement, which was the outcome of his superb season.
