Egypt is planning to host a conference in late June 2024 to bring together all Sudanese civil political forces, along with relevant regional and international partners, as reported by “Egypt Today”
The discussion aims to help the various Sudanese civil political forces reach an agreement on ways to establish comprehensive and lasting peace in Sudan through a Sudanese-Sudanese national dialogue based on a purely Sudanese vision.
This conference is part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to halt the war in Sudan, in cooperation with regional and international partners such as Sudan’s neighboring countries, the parties to the Jeddah talks, the United Nations, the African Union, the Arab League, and the IGAD organization.
The invitation shows Egypt’s commitment to assisting Sudan in overcoming its crisis and addressing its severe repercussions on the Sudanese people and the security and stability of the region, particularly Sudan’s neighboring countries.
This initiative is driven by the deep historical, social, and fraternal ties between the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples.
Egypt firmly believes that the current conflict in Sudan is primarily a Sudanese issue and that any future political process should include all active national parties on the Sudanese scene while respecting Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and non-interference in its internal affairs.
