Egypt Vigorously Denounces Israeli Air Raid on Jabalia Refugee Camp Killing +400 Palestinians

News Agencies

Yesterday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry issued a statement strongly condemning the Israeli inhumane attack on the Jabalia camp, the largest refugee camp in Gaza, causing approximately 400 casualties, half of them women and children, in addition to 7 Israeli hostages.

According to the statement, Egypt regards this act as a further gross breach of international law by Israeli forces, adding to the complexity of the current crisis and predicting severe consequences on all levels.

Egypt further warned of the grave consequences of the continuation of such indiscriminate attacks targeting innocent civilians in their places of shelter and around the medical centers and hospitals to which they seek refuge to escape the violent and continuous Israeli bombing, without any regard for the lives, and in a way that exacerbates the crisis and deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian news agency “WAFA” reported that the latest Israeli bombings damaged residential apartment towers in the Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza, resulting in about 400 injuries and deaths.

Atef al-Kahlout, the director of the Indonesian Hospital, reported that at least 50 persons have lost their lives in the hit. The hospital is still unable to provide an exact number of overall casualties.

According to the news agency, at least 15 individuals were killed when Israeli airplanes attacked a residential structure in the Nuseirat refugee camp. Many civilians are currently still trapped beneath the rubble.

A residential house in the Beach refugee camp was also attacked, resulting in the deaths of at least ten individuals.

These Israeli attacks came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected pleas for a cease-fire and promised to destroy Hamas’ ability to administer Gaza or threaten Israel.
