Egypt has called on all relevant international actors to avoid using “double standards” in response to the conflict in Gaza following a recent Israeli attack on the Al-Mawasi camp, which has been designated as a humanitarian safe zone by Israel, resulting in the deaths of many people on Tuesday.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Egypt’s strong condemnation of the ongoing Israeli attacks on civilians in Gaza. The ministry pointed out the lack of effective international action to stop the humanitarian suffering.

Egypt also warned that Israel’s continuous disregard for the lives of innocent civilians poses a serious threat to regional and international peace and security. The ministry urged the international community to fulfill their humanitarian and ethical responsibilities to promptly end this humanitarian tragedy.

According to Egypt today website Egypt emphasized that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has become a significant challenge to the credibility of all humanitarian standards and values, constituting a violation of fundamental principles of international humanitarian law and human rights.

Overall, Egypt advocated for a fair and lasting resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through the two-state solution, which involves establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Egypt stressed that achieving peace and stability in the region requires reaching such a settlement, extending beyond just securing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
