The National Council for Women, headed by Dr. Maya Morsi, extended its sincere congratulations to Dr. Nermine Hanafi Mohamed, a research professor in the Refining Department at the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute, for her new appointment as Head of the Refining Department at the Institute.
Dr. Maya Morsi expressed her great happiness and pride in having Dr. Nermine Hanafi assume this position, which is a tribute to her scientific career as a distinguished scientific model, pointing out that this comes in line with the directions of the state and its political leadership to empower women and their access to various leadership positions in light of the unwavering belief of Mr. President Abdul Al-Fattah Al-Sisi in women, their abilities, and competencies.
Notably, Dr. Hanafi has a distinguished scientific career, which she began after obtaining a bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Science, Cairo University, majoring in chemistry, then a master’s degree in organic chemistry, and a doctorate of philosophy degree in chemistry.
She gradually assumed positions in light of her scientific competence and what distinguished her, beginning with her work as an assistant researcher in the Refining Department in 2003 until she was appointed head of the natural refining laboratory in the department in 2019.
