Dina Al-Rifai, an Egyptian FA board of directors’ member at the Egyptian Football Association and supervisor of women’s football, called for the formation of a new women’s football team for girls under 17 years of age, the U-17 women’s team, after the success of the first team and the U-20 women’s team in their first mission in the African qualifiers.
Through their next meeting, the Football Association is expected to discuss the idea of forming a national team for young women and appointing a new technical staff; there is already a proposal that Mohamed Kamal, the technical director of the senior national team and young women, assume the task of supervising it.
Last Friday, the Egyptian women’s national team, led by Mohamed Kamal, achieved a broad victory over its counterpart, Sao Tome, with a score of 11-0, in the second leg of the African Nations qualifiers for the 2024 World Cup scheduled to be held in Colombia next year.
Notably, the goals of the match were scored by Halan Mustafa (3 goals), Camelia Shehata, Noura Khaled, Habiba Tariq (2 goals), Habiba Essam, Yara Khaled, Habiba Omar, and Nour Abdel Wahed Al-Sayed.
