Earlier today, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that next Thursday, January 25, will be an official paid holiday for all Egyptian banks to commemorate the anniversary of the January 25 Revolution and Police Day.

The holiday celebrates the thirteenth anniversary of the 2011 Revolution, as well as Police Day, which commemorates the massacre of 50 Egyptian policemen by British occupation forces in Ismailia in 1952.

According to a CBE statement, work will resume on Sunday morning, January 28th.
