Beni Suef Technological University, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Jean Henry, the University’s president, organized an important workshop entitled “Enhancing Cooperation and Networking with Relevant Bodies to Promote Women’s Rights” in cooperation with the National Council for Women branch, the Complaints Office, and the Safe Women Unit at Beni Suef University Hospitals.
The workshop aims to enhance awareness and understanding of the role of these bodies and provide the necessary support to women in society.
Narmin Mahmoud, Rapporteur of the National Council for Women branch, gave an introductory lecture on the council’s organizational structure and its role in promoting women’s rights.
The council’s efforts in gender equality, combating violence against women, and enhancing women’s role in society were highlighted. She also gave a comprehensive presentation on the complaint’s office in the branch and how to receive and deal with problems.
The importance of providing legal support and consultations to women facing legal challenges or rights violations was highlighted.
During the workshop, Dr. Moamen Zakaria, Director of the Safe Women Unit at Beni Suef University Hospitals, spoke about the unit’s role in providing medical and psychological support to women suffering from violence.
Dr. Zakaria explained how to provide medical and psychological support and assistance to affected women and how to deal with emergencies.
The workshop targeted members of the Equal Opportunities and Anti-Discrimination Committee at Beni Suef Technological University.
This workshop comes as part of the ongoing efforts to raise awareness and network among stakeholders, and promote women’s rights and status in society.
