Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII), held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh under the theme “The New Compass” (“Key to Prosperity”). The high-profile event runs through October 30.

According to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the conference brings together global policymakers, investors, and innovators to discuss key challenges facing international investment, and the role of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in driving sustainable economic growth amid rapidly changing global dynamics.

Dr. Al-Mashat is scheduled to participate in a main session titled “The Council of Changemakers: Influential Leaders Across the Public and Private Sectors.” The panel will explore pressing global issues — from geopolitical tensions and economic volatility to climate change — emphasizing the importance of trust-based partnerships between governments and the private sector in charting new pathways for shared prosperity and growth.

During her visit, the Minister will also hold a series of bilateral meetings with private-sector representatives to discuss investment opportunities and economic cooperation between Egypt and global partners.

The Future Investment Initiative, often dubbed “Davos in the Desert,” is one of the world’s leading platforms for dialogue on global investment and innovation. This year’s edition hosts over 8,000 participants, including 650 speakers and delegations from 20 countries, underscoring Riyadh’s growing influence as a hub for international economic discourse.
