Prime Minister Reviews Preparations for Grand Egyptian Museum Inauguration on July 3rd

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, chaired a meeting today to review the preparations for the upcoming grand opening of the Egyptian Museum. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Eng.  Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport, Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, Mr. Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Samah Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, and Dr. Ahmed Hano, Minister of Culture.

The meeting brought together Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, Ambassador Yasser Shaaban, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Cultural Relations, Mr. Tarek Noor, Chairman of United Media Services  (UMS), Mr. Mohamed Saada, Board Member, and officials from the relevant ministries and authorities, as well as members of UMS’s board.

Setting the Date for a Historic Event

The Prime Minister began the meeting by noting that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had approved the official opening date of the museum as July 3, 2025. The event is expected to last for several days and will be a global spectacle, drawing attention from all over the world.

Focused on Showcasing Egypt’s Rich Heritage

Dr. Madbouly highlighted that the preparations are being closely monitored, with instructions for various ministries and agencies to ensure that the event is executed flawlessly. The opening will be an important opportunity to showcase Egypt’s historical and cultural significance, promote its tourism destinations, and highlight the achievements made in recent years.

Event Agenda and Logistics Discussed

The meeting also included a presentation from Mr. Mohamed Saadi, outlining the proposed agenda for the opening celebrations. The agenda includes invitations to heads of states, monarchs, and dignitaries, as well as details of the various activities planned for the event.

Additionally, the meeting reviewed the responsibilities of each ministry and governorate, including logistical arrangements for the arrival and departure of guests, as well as any required facilitation of procedures to ensure the smooth organization of the event.

The ministers and governors present at the meeting pledged their full support for the success of the event, promising to remove any obstacles and provide all necessary assistance to ensure the smooth organization of the inauguration.

In his concluding remarks, Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized the importance of ensuring the highest levels of preparation across all sectors, from airports and hotels to roads and the venue itself. “It is essential that the country presents itself in the best possible light,” he said.

The opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum is poised to be a milestone event that will showcase Egypt’s rich cultural heritage to the world, and the government is committed to making it a resounding success.
