The initiative aims to train one million citizens over the next three years by implementing specialized vocational training programs targeting residents in the “Haya Karima” villages. The program seeks to enhance economic empowerment, improve access to the job market, and raise awareness about government services aimed at supporting families and workforce development in underserved areas.
The protocol was signed by Dr. Manal Hanafi, Head of the Central Administration for Development and Investment at the Ministry of Social Solidarity, Ms. Shaimaa Mahmoud from the Ministry of Labor, and Mr. Mostafa Zamzam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Good Hands Foundation. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Hisham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, Dr. Mohamed Al-Aqbi, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Strategic Communication and Media, Legal Advisor Mr. Karim Qalawy, Ms. Nermine, Economic Empowerment Advisor to the Minister of Social Solidarity, along with key officials from the Ministry of Labor and Banque Misr.
Focus on Vocational Training for Economic Empowerment
The goal of the protocol is to deliver training programs focused on economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, and life skills development. In addition, ten mobile training units will be established to provide vocational training in fields such as handicrafts, traditional crafts, tailoring, electrical work, plumbing, computer maintenance, mobile phone repair, and languages. These units will be fully equipped to offer the necessary training sessions in rural areas.
The mobile units will travel to the targeted villages within the “Haya Karima” initiative, delivering free, short-term courses aimed at enhancing skills and promoting self-sufficiency. The protocol also includes the provision of training curricula tailored to the specific needs of these communities, including hands-on training in areas like tailoring, electrical work, plumbing, computer and mobile phone maintenance, and language skills.
Equipping Citizens for the Future
The mobile units will be equipped with all the necessary tools to carry out the training sessions and will also work to raise awareness about the available services, training locations, and the skills taught in each training program. Once the training is completed, participants will receive certificates of skill level assessment, as well as licenses to practice their craft, empowering them to pursue employment opportunities and contribute to their local economies.
