Dr. Ghada Abdelhadi Kandil, Chief Director for Egypt at Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon), was recently recognized for her leadership in the financial sector at the Forbes Middle East Women’s Summit 2024 in Riyadh. The recognition, presented by H.H. Princess Doaa Bint Mohammed, CEO of Al Mohra Education Company, and Khuloud Al Omian, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Middle East, celebrated Dr. Kandil’s contributions to fostering economic growth and empowering women in the industry.

Dr. Ghada Abdelhadi Kandil joined BNY Mellon as Chief Representative for Cairo, Egypt, following a distinguished career at the Central Bank of Egypt where she served as Assistant Sub-Governor for seventeen years. Her extensive expertise in banking and finance made her a valuable asset to the Central Bank of Egypt upon her joining in 2005. She initially oversaw the department of external debt risk, demonstrating her strong analytical and risk management skills. In 2008, she transitioned to the banking reform sector, where she played a key role in managing the portfolio of international institutions. In 2013, she further expanded her responsibilities by joining the international markets and portfolio management department.

Dr. Kandil’s appointment at BNY Mellon marks a significant step in her career and is expected to contribute significantly to the bank’s operations and growth in Egypt.
