The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) has invested significantly in Port Said Governorate, injecting EGP 508.7 million into 14,500 small and micro projects over the past decade. These projects have generated approximately 25,000 job opportunities, contributing to the region’s economic growth and social development.

In addition to financial support, MSMEDA has provided essential technical services to entrepreneurs in Port Said. The agency has issued 5,646 licenses for new projects and facilitated the regularization of over 500 informal businesses.

MSMEDA CEO Basil Rahmy emphasized the agency’s commitment to collaborating with government bodies and local authorities to implement development initiatives aligned with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s “A New Beginning for Human Development” initiative. By working closely with partners, MSMEDA aims to empower young people and citizens to establish their own businesses and create sustainable livelihoods.

Port Said Governor Moheb Habashi praised the fruitful partnership with MSMEDA, highlighting the positive impact of infrastructure projects in underserved areas. He noted that these projects create a conducive environment for small businesses to thrive and generate employment opportunities for local residents.

During a recent visit to Port Said, Rahmy and Habashi distributed new funding to project owners and issued licenses to regularize informal businesses. They also inspected infrastructure projects implemented by MSMEDA in collaboration with the governorate, such as the Israa and Marwa Project, which is funded by the European Union through the European Investment Bank.

To support local entrepreneurs, MSMEDA organized the “Egyptian Hands” Exhibition in Montazah Park, showcasing the products of 60 small and micro businesses. The agency provides marketing opportunities to these businesses by facilitating their participation in local and national exhibitions, fostering knowledge exchange among entrepreneurs.
