The Egyptian Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, has approved several key decisions during its meeting on Wednesday. These decisions include a one-year extension for foreigners residing in Egypt illegally to regularize their status, as well as measures related to strategic projects and international agreements.
Extension for Foreign Residents
The Cabinet’s decision to extend the regularization period for foreign residents aligns with guidelines outlined in Prime Minister’s Decree No. 3326 of 2023. This move aims to provide a grace period for individuals who may have overstayed their visas to legalize their status.
Strategic Project Approvals
The Cabinet classified the Suez Warehousing Company as a strategic project, granting it expedited approval processes. This project will involve designing, constructing, and operating a strategic warehouse in the Suez Governorate. The warehouse aims to secure strategic goods, monitor inventory, and identify new supply needs. It will also emphasize the transfer and localization of advanced technologies to Egypt and attract both international and Egyptian companies in e-commerce and specialized logistics services.
