The Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit at the university, organized a workshop entitled “Etamen”.
The workshop was organized under the patronage of Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of the University; Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the College and supervised by Dr. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Hind Al-Hilali, Director of the Unit.
During the workshop, Hend Al-Hilali, director of the unit, explained what the unit is, its goals, activities, work mechanisms, and strategies, and how cases of harassment, violence, and bullying from specialists in colleges, units, and centers at the university are transferred to it and the role it plays, in addition to the services it provides.
The workshop included many reactions that must be taken if exposed to or witnessed harassment, bullying, or any general harm, whether to oneself or others. The workshop triggered admirable interaction among the students.
Dr. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development, emphasized during her opening speech that violence against women is one of the most dangerous phenomena that negatively affects the family, in addition to its psychological consequences or girls and women, which prevent their full participation in society.
