The Public Authority for Health Care launched workshops to raise awareness of proper nutrition and healthy lifestyles for mothers and children, coinciding with the International Breastfeeding Week, and for the second year in a row, in Ismailia and Port Said governorates.
The authority’s statement indicated that under the slogan “The Working Mother… Between Breastfeeding and Work”, the workshops were held in the two governorates in cooperation with the National Institute of Nutrition and with the support of the International Infant Feeding Network in the Arab World (IBFAN), the World Food Program (WFP), UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO), the Egyptian Association of Breastfeeding Consultants, and the Egyptian Foundation for Child Health and Nutrition.
The statement added: Workshops were held for medical service providers, who provide medical services to the mother and child, to help mothers face challenges and reduce improper nutritional practices that may interfere with optimal natural nutrition.
