Good news! Mayar Sherif recently secured 40th place in the women’s singles world rankings, crowning her career achievements and eventually becoming the highest-ranked Egyptian female player in history.

The Egyptian Tennis Federation praised Sherif’s achievement and shared a picture of the 27-year-old player captioned “a new record”, accompanied by personal statistics about the player and her new classification, according to the “Egypt Independent” website.

Sherif’s great progress came after winning the Makarska Championship title in Croatia last Sunday.

Sherif, who reached the second round at the French Open last month, was the first Egyptian to win a professional women’s title when she was crowned with the Parma Ladies Open championship last year.

The President of the Egyptian Tennis Federation Ismail al-Shafei expressed his pride at Sherif’s achievement.

Shafei said, “I expect Sherif to advance more and more in the world ranking, and next week she will have a clay court tournament through which she can achieve good results that will put her in a better ranking.”
