US First Lady, Jill Biden, took her second six-day trip across the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. Arriving in Cairo on June 2nd, Biden toured the pyramids and the site’s Great Sphinx, accompanied by the Supreme Council of Antiquities chief, Mostafa Waziri. She also visited a technical school and toured the renowned al-Azhar Mosque.
During her trip, President Al Sisi and Egypt’s first lady, Intsar Al Sisi, met with Biden Lady at Al-Ittihadiyah, the Egyptian presidential palace, as they discussed the mechanisms to promote women empowerment and education for the youth.
Before she visited Egypt, she visited Jordan, where she attended the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein and Saudi architect Rajwa Alseif on 1 June.
Egypt’s First Lady published a Facebook post, welcoming Biden to her “second home”, and accompanying her throughout her trip in Egypt.
