Dr. Ghada Wali, Director of the United Nations Office for Combating Crime and Drugs, inaugurated the 20th edition of the “Noun and Funoon” exhibition, featuring 45 female artists, at the Picasso Gallery in Zamalek, in the presence of many artists, media professionals, and public figures.

The director shared: The Noon and Funoon exhibition is remarkable, as it includes 45 artists and 50 artworks by contemporary artists and pioneers. For that reason, it displays different art schools that reflect the strength and tenderness of Egyptian women.

She explained that the exhibition aims to donate a percentage of the financial return to charitable institutions, which is a noble cause. Moreover, the exhibition honors women on the occasion of International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day.

Nagwa Ibrahim, Director of Picasso Gallery Zamalek, said: The exhibition comes within our continuous support for female artists and our belief in liberating their creative and giving energy alike.

In turn, Artist Lina Osama, a participant at this year’s exhibition, said she is participating with two artworks that feature women and motherhood, adding that she is greatly influenced by the ancient Egyptian civilization.

She continued: I am happy to participate in the exhibition held in March, the month of women, with big names of the pioneers of contemporary art, like Gazbaa Serry, Engy Efflatoun, and Tahia Halim.
