Egypt’s PM Follows up With Int’l Cooperation Min. Preparations For 2nd Edition of Egypt-ICF

Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouli, met on Sunday with International Cooperation Minister, Rania el Mashat , to follow up on current preparations for the second edition of the Egypt-International Cooperation Forum (Egypt-ICF) that is scheduled to kick off under the patronage of  President  Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The event will take place during the period from 7 to 9 September in the New Administrative Capital City.

During the meeting, Mashat briefed Madbouli on efforts exerted by the International Cooperation Ministry in cooperation with related ministries and bodies to reach good outcomes, pointing to high-level international participation of climate activists, heads of financial institutions, and UN officials.

She also highlighted that the event would be held in the presence of African Ministers to share constructive insights about climate action, mixed finances, food security, and the green economy. The Forum will be held only 60 days before the launch of the COP27.

The forum will include four roundtables on national efforts to support climate action and six discussion panels on topics related to sustainable development, eight workshops on challenges faced by efforts of green transition regionally and internationally.

Mashat also stated that the forum would shed light on Egypt’s efforts in support of positive climate action, referring to the launch of NWFE, a platform for green projects.

The meeting of African Ministers of Economy, Finance, and Environment will also take place as one of the forum’s proceedings to unify their efforts for positive climate action as well as prepare for National Financial Awareness Day.

The Egyptian ministries of international cooperation, finance, and foreign affairs are collaborating with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa to organize this meeting.

Madbouli stressed the importance of this forum, highlighting that its success is a must.
