2nd Edition of Cairo Drama Festival 2023 to Start Thursday in New Alamien

Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 24, 2023, as the second edition of the highly-anticipated Cairo Drama Festival 2023 is set to take place in the new city of El Alamein.

This year’s theme, “60 Years of Drama”, is spearheaded by the renowned artist Yehia El-Fakharani, and will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the production and broadcast of the first-ever Egyptian drama.

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of United Media Services Company and the Actors’ Syndicate, the festival promises 58 TV series aired on both TV and digital platforms throughout the year, not just limited to the Ramadan TV series.

To recognize the best drama of the year, promote creativity, develop the artistic production industry, and enhance the enlightening role of theater in shaping society’s awareness of important issues and promoting human values, this year’s festival is an event not to be missed.

The jury, consisting of Director Gamal Abdel Hamid, Elham Shahin, Karim Abdel Aziz, critic Tarek El Shennawy, and writer Abdel Rahim Kamal, will be responsible for selecting the winners in various categories, including Best Series, Best Comedy Series, Best Director, Best Actor, and Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best New Actor and Actress, Best Author, Best Cinematography, Best Decoration, Best Soundtrack, Best Screenplay, and Best Montage.

With such a diverse range of awards, the festival promises to showcase various talents and expertise in different aspects of the industry.
