Starting this week, the 20th Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Summer Festival will take place with daily concerts and artistic activities scheduled throughout the month.
The festival will showcase renowned local and Arab performers at the Mediterranean from 3 August to 1 September.
The program features various highlights, including concerts by famous Egyptian bands like Massar Egbari, Omar Khairat, Hisham Kharma, Ali El-Haggar, Dina El-Wedidi, Hisham Abbas, Hani Shenouda, Tablet Elsitt, Ahmed Rabe, Sohbet El-Semsemiya, Andromeda, Egypsana, alongside Jordanian counterparts Jadal, Akher Zapheer, and El Morabba3.
The festival also offers theatrical performances of the plays Us Versus Shakespeare and I am Carmen, as well as workshops.
Additionally, there will be film-related master-classes and activities for children. This cultural event is among Alexandria’s most significant and is set to attract a large audience to Bibliotheca’s numerous venues, including its open-air theatre and two indoor theatres.
