Arisa Trew, a 14-year-old from Australia, clinched Australia’s inaugural gold medal in skateboarding at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the women’s park competition final.
Despite encountering technical issues during her performance, Trew managed to secure an impressive score of 93.18, making her the youngest medalist at the Paris Games. Initially starting in the bronze medal position, Trew initiated her run with a 360 over the box, executing two remarkable 540s.
According to Sada el Balad Website in a statement to the press, she mentioned, “I knew I had to deliver a flawless run to secure a spot on the podium.” Cocona Hiraki from Japan claimed the silver medal, with Britain’s Sky Brown taking home the bronze.
Notably, Hiraki and Brown also secured silver and bronze respectively in the same event at the Tokyo Games three years ago.
