CIB Cooperates in Largest Nile Clean-up Initiative To date

Commercial International Bank (CIB), in collaboration with YLE, Egypt launched the largest Nile Clean-up that entered the Guinness World Records, The clean-up took place over 16 governorates overlooking the Nile and was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the Ministry of Local Development, the COP27 Presidency, with support from the United Nations reflects CIB’s consistent ESG efforts and leading role as an advocate for sustainable development.

This initiative aims to advance the role of civil society institutions in the governorates overlooking the Nile and to encourage the youth to play their role in preserving the Nile and to raise their awareness of the importance of recycling and waste management, protecting the river from pollution and plastic waste, and preserving aquatic biodiversity.

“CIB aspires that the initiative further evolves in partnership with YLE and in coordination with governmental entities to become a national campaign that ultimately restores the sanctuary and purity of the Nile.”, said Dalia Abdelkader, Chief Sustainability Officer at CIB.
