Egypt Launches Second Edition of National Cybersecurity Academy to Empower Digital-Ready Youth

Mona Yousef

In a push toward strengthening digital resilience and cybersecurity awareness among Egypt’s youth, the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), operating under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, has officially launched the second edition of the Cybersecurity Academy for Emergence and Youth.

This flagship initiative—hailed as the largest national program of its kind in Egypt—is being rolled out in collaboration with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and the National Center for Computer and Network Emergencies (EG-CERT). The program also enjoys strategic support from leading global tech firms, including Palo Alto Networks, Google Cloud Security, F5, Trellix, and MCS.

A Digital Defense Strategy for the Next Generation

The Cybersecurity Academy aims to train 5,000 participants this year, categorized across three educational tiers:

  • 2,000 school students (ages 10–17): Trained in safe internet practices and digital literacy fundamentals to build early-stage cyber awareness.

  • 2,000 university students: Receive training in technical skills, digital freelancing, and cybersecurity foundations tailored to the evolving demands of the digital job market.

  • 1,000 recent graduates: Offered hands-on advanced training, including real-world cybersecurity scenarios and mentorship from sponsoring tech companies—facilitating smooth entry into the workforce.

The first phase, currently underway, targets school students and will be implemented across 10 governorates, including Greater Cairo, Alexandria, Menoufia, Mansoura, Benha, Fayoum, Port Said, Assiut, Qena, and Aswan.

Inclusive, Immersive, and Free

The academy is fully free of charge, with organized transportation from central collection points across participating governorates. Its format blends interactive lectures, cybersecurity challenges and games, practical workshops, and project-based learning—all tailored to the digital proficiency levels of different age groups.

In a landmark addition this year, participants will also receive accredited academic certificates, marking the first time the academy offers officially recognized credentials.

“This isn’t just about cyber hygiene,” said an NTI spokesperson. “It’s about equipping an entire generation with the knowledge, skills, and certifications needed to safely thrive in the digital economy.”

National Vision Meets Global Tech Power

Egypt’s Cybersecurity Academy reflects a growing national strategy that places cybersecurity and digital literacy at the heart of youth development. The involvement of global tech leaders ensures that participants are exposed to international standards and practices, setting the stage for both local and global career paths.

With demand for cybersecurity talent rising worldwide, this program not only supports Egypt’s domestic digital transformation goals but also positions its youth as competent contenders in the global tech workforce.

Applications for the first phase are now open, with registration details available on the NTI’s official platforms.
