Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, met with Dr. Rasha Ragab, Executive Director of the National Academy for Training, to discuss strengthening their collaborative efforts in increasing investment in human capital and enhancing joint programs.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Mashat praised the Academy’s initiatives aimed at equipping human resources, stressing the importance of investing in human capital to create competent leaders for the country’s development. She emphasized that human capital, particularly youth who constitute 60% of Egypt’s population, represents one of the nation’s greatest assets.
The Minister also highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the Academy with tools and mechanisms that can further contribute to enhancing training programs. She underscored the need for synergy between various Academy programs, particularly those aimed at reducing the gender gap and fostering partnerships between the government, private sector, international entities, and civil society, to promote economic empowerment of women.
Dr. Al-Mashat reiterated that the collaboration aligns with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s vision of positioning human development at the heart of Egypt’s sustainable future. This vision involves empowering both youth and women, developing leadership capacity, and investing in the workforce to ensure national growth.
Dr. Ragab expressed her appreciation for the Ministry’s continuous support in achieving the Academy’s objectives. She described the Academy as a hub for intellectual advancement and transformational human development, providing multidisciplinary knowledge and innovative solutions to effectively nurture human capital.
The Academy’s team presented a number of key programs, including the “Professional Government Official Initiative,” which has graduated 6,713 participants, aimed at improving public service delivery. They also highlighted the “Presidential Program for African Youth Leadership,” which has trained 279 young leaders from 50 countries, reflecting Egypt’s active role in promoting African development and peace.
Additionally, the Academy’s team presented initiatives such as the “Women Lead in Egyptian Provinces” program, launched in September 2023 to train 5,400 women across Egyptian governorates in social, economic, and political empowerment. They also outlined the “Women Lead Egyptians Abroad” program, which trains Egyptian women living abroad to stay informed on national development initiatives.
The team also introduced programs focused on leadership development for women, such as the “Women Lead for Executives” program, designed to enhance leadership and personal skills for women aspiring to senior leadership roles. Furthermore, the ongoing “Women Lead in Provinces – Online” program has benefited 220 participants since its launch in January 2025.
In addition to these, the Academy is running various ongoing and upcoming programs, including those aimed at youth leadership, executive leadership training, and specialized programs for African student leaders, with a focus on supporting Egypt’s broader developmental goals.
The meeting underscored the strategic importance of these collaborative efforts in nurturing a skilled and empowered workforce capable of driving Egypt’s development forward in alignment with the country’s Vision 2030.
