The ceremony honoring Egyptian women commenced today with the attendance of President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi and First Lady Entissar Al-Sisi.
President Al-Sisi makes an active effort each year to attend the ceremony in recognition of the pivotal role Egyptian women play across all sectors of society and to reaffirm his enduring respect for their contributions.
Significant advancements have been achieved in Egyptian women’s empowerment and rights since President Al-Sisi took office, according to officials. The number of female government ministers is at an all-time high, and women have now risen to assume the post of governor, as well as various leadership positions within state institutions.
In remarks at the ceremony, Planning and Economic Development Minister Dr. Hala Al-Saied thanked President Al-Sisi, praising not only the political and economic empowerment under his tenure but also his address on women’s status and role within both professional and domestic spheres.
She highlighted the importance of an egalitarian value system embodied by respect for women, as exemplified in the President referring to Egyptian women as the “Great Women of Egypt.”
As part of celebrations emphasizing societal appreciation for mothers, exemplary national winners of the “Ideal Mothers” award competition were also honored at the event, held with the support of President Al-Sisi in celebration of Egyptian women’s achievements.
