Strengthening Egypt’s Partnerships with IGU Members
Throughout the meeting, the Egyptian Gas Association worked to strengthen its relationships with IGU members, leading to the signing of two key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). The first MoU with the Korea Gas Union focuses on enhancing information exchange, networking, and supporting global gas events, while the second MoU with Oman LNG Development Foundation aims to foster joint events, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and sustainability efforts.

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, have formalized a strategic partnership aiming to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.
Following his participation in the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, President Sisi announced Egypt’s membership in the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, a Brazilian initiative focused on accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Sisi emphasized the need for global action to address pressing issues like poverty, hunger, and climate change.
During the summit, Sisi also condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression in Palestine and Lebanon, calling for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid. He reiterated Egypt’s commitment to a two-state solution and the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.
In his bilateral meeting with President Lula da Silva, Sisi discussed regional issues and Egypt’s efforts to stabilize the Middle East. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the Palestinian cause and the two-state solution.
Additionally, President Sisi met with several world leaders, including the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the President of Tanzania, and the Prime Minister of Singapore. These meetings focused on strengthening bilateral relations, promoting economic cooperation, and addressing global challenges.
Organon, a global healthcare company, and the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) have joined forces to improve women’s health and family planning services in Egypt.
The partnership, announced recently, involves training community pharmacists across the country. The aim is to raise awareness about family planning options and empower pharmacists to provide effective counseling services. This initiative aligns with the Egyptian government’s focus on human capital development and population health.
Organon will deliver both in-person and online training sessions to equip pharmacists with the necessary knowledge and skills. Later on, rained pharmacists will be able to provide accurate information and counseling to women, helping them make informed decisions about their reproductive health.

The Women’s Entrepreneurship Network (WEN) recently hosted a forum that celebrated the achievements of successful women leaders and underscored the importance of networking in driving women’s entrepreneurship in Egypt.
The event featured inspiring talks from prominent figures such as Mrs. May Mahmoud, General Director of the Women Business Development Center, and Mrs. Dalia Ibrahim, board member of WEN and Chairwoman of Dar Nahdet Misr Publishing House. Actress and entrepreneur Bushra Rozza also shared her experiences, providing valuable insights for aspiring female entrepreneurs.
Empowering the Next Generation Mrs. Noha Abdel Hamid, co-founder and president of WEN, emphasized the power of storytelling and the importance of creating a supportive environment for women entrepreneurs. She highlighted the network’s commitment to providing resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help women succeed.
“We believe that every woman has the potential to be a successful entrepreneur,” said Abdel Hamid. “By sharing our stories and experiences, we can inspire and empower the next generation of female leaders.”
A Collaborative Approach The forum also underscored the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors. Dr. Hala Barakat, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the AUC School of Business, stressed the need for universities to play a more active role in nurturing women-led businesses.
The National Council for Women (NCW) actively participated in the annual “Her Career” summit, a platform dedicated to women’s empowerment and economic growth.
During the summit, Safaa Habib, Head of the Central Administration for Media and Protocol at the NCW, highlighted the council’s commitment to supporting and empowering women. She discussed the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030 and the crucial role of the Women’s Complaints Office. She also elaborated on various programs and projects, including the council’s involvement in the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Development.”
Noha Morsi, Head of the Central Administration for Committees and Branches, emphasized the importance of work-life balance and the social empowerment aspect of the National Strategy. She advised women to prioritize self-care and to effectively communicate their needs and feelings.
